practically no use… except for replanting rubber tree purpose. . . .
during childhood days – we used to use them for a game of “whose-rubber-seed-is-harder” by pressing 2 of them together… loser cracks.
some girls like to use it for “five-stones”

haha, not sure if you can eat them, but i know(or at least i think i know) u can rub then on a hard surface, like concrete floor, quickly for a a few seconds to heat it up. then you burn ur siblings (or your notti children?hehe) with it. It’s jus something i used to play wit when i was young(sadistic?). did i win a price?

err, dunno if 1-4 are just being funny, but i know those are biji getah.
masa zaman jajahan jepun, my grandmother made gulai with them. pecah the kulit of course and use the flesh inside.
I agree with q. It looks like rubber tree seeds to me. Use to collect those in my dad’s kampung last time and use it as ‘chip’ when we ‘chor tai di’. Didn’t know it can be eaten though. pretty hard..

The answer is rubber seeds. And my guess is correct. Not many people have seen rubbers seeds! When they are ripe, they can fling rather far from the main tree. It gives a cracking sound.
Those things mentioned by lee and Kris are what I had done before too. It’s shell is very hard and shiny.

apart from burning people, we used to lastik (handheld catapult) & main congkak-in-the ground using biji getah – part of my ‘kampung/hutan getah adventure’
definitely seed of rubber tree. During my time as a kiddo, we use that to play. Rub it on a rough surface till hot and then scorch peeps skin. lolz. mishevious.
Or else, get a good tough veiny seed and place it on top of another peeps seed. Whack ! the loser will get his crack rubber seed. hehehehehehe.

Brown watermelon? Hahaha! Kundur? Cempedak/nangka seeds? Hahaha. I’m less than 30 years old and have seen rubber seeds in my younger days and played with them like CL, lee and Athene.
