Lotus pond that attracts brides

lotus2

A lotus flower from my neighbour’s garden.

lake

A lake in Batu Metropolitan Park, near Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur. Several brides and grooms were there to take their wedding photos. (roll eyes) Some even went into the bushes/small jungle nearby to take their wedding photos. Imagine wearing suits, gowns, veils and all that make-up on a hot, hot afternoon and posing there for hours. (roll bigger eyes)

The photo above has a funny two tone colour because the evening sun was shining from my back. I couldn’t get down to the lake side like those brides in their heels because the less steep side was too sunny and not suitable for photographs (the brides were there in the afternoon, I took the photo in the evening, I was there at noon and evening). I don’t want to risk rolling into the muddy lake for the sake of a lotus flower photo!

lotus

Another shot of the lotus from my neighbour’s garden. I ‘stole’ this shot when the family was away during Deepavali.

Wuching – Hahaha, no. But it riled me when I see people stealing water lillies and lotuses from the public park. Once, I went to the park and saw the flower blooming so nice but the sun was too bright for photographs. I turned back later, and poof, people has plucked it. Oh man, that’s committing theft.

babe – Ya, in fact, got vandalised already. And the ppl from the skateboarding shop advised us against going at night. The park opened till 10pm. Robberies and mat rempits extorting money. Frankly, it is a pity ‘cos the place is really conducive for families but the people there are errrmm… a bit rough. Pssst….There seems to be no decorum in children playground.

soohk – Hahaha, you are married liao, so never mind. Blooming flowers only attract bees, which I am sure you do not want. Only single girls ought to plant flowers for the fengshui.

I love the lotus flowers – my sister has them a few in her garden. You should take them stage by stage as it’s amazing how they grow and then the petals fall off after they have bloomed.
