My children call this place the chimpanzee pancake place.
We have been there twice. On our last visit, I ate some delicious pancake called Tucks, the Che Panez speciality which is pancake with banana, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and I requested for some extra peanut butter. Yummm….But I didn’t bring my camera with me on that visit. My son also ordered some pizza during the last trip.
Today, we ordered this snowman pancake which my kid loves very much.
It is only RM6.50 with a free cup of coffee or ice tea.
This place is on the ground floor of Gurney Plaza, Penang next to Breeks and was the former Miki Ojisan cheesecake place. They have an open kitchen where you can see your pancake being prepared. Service is not bad with friendly and efficient waiters.
Besides pancakes, they have other stuffs like pizza, cakes, coffee, salad, potatoes and other stuffs.
I ordered a coconut sauce pancake for myself and a plate of potato croquette filled with cheese.
Do give this place a try. I like the pancake because they don’t pile on too many unnecessary stuffs except for one decent, soft pancake and the required sauce. Much better than the ones I ate at Paddington House because it costs only a quarter of the price and comes with a free cup of coffee.
I got a recipe for the fluffy pancake but haven’t master the making of these soft type of pancakes. I see that the kitchen staff use a mixer to blend them just before frying. Anyone has the recipe for this crepe like pancake?
