Fuschia the flower – Best recipes, foods and travel

Fuschia the flower

Thanks to the Flickr Flower group, I learnt the name of this flower. All the while, I thought fuschia refers to the colour which is a darker shade of pink that look almost purple.

There are so many hybrids with so many different colours combinations. I took these photos from Cameron Highlands. Aren’t they so dainty? Like the tutu of a ballerina?

From Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary

1 : any of a genus (Fuchsia) of decorative shrubs of the evening-primrose family having showy nodding flowers usually in deep pinks, reds, and purples
2 : a vivid reddish purple

I am off to join the Fuschia group on Flickr. I think I am getting Flickritis, an obsession with joining groups and posting photos. At last count, I think I have joined 50 groups, from graves to bamboo to shoes to earrings to everything you can think of.

My sister bought some fuschia last month for our (new) shared balcony. Some locals called these ‘lipstick’ plants.
