Because turtle is important for the ocean ecology. Without them, the ocean will be full of jelly fish and sea urchin.

I remember an article that talk about shark killing in some pacific island, as Islander think “shark eat all the fish”. It end up the (fish) catch diminish as less shark in the ocean. And research show that shark remove sicked and large predator fish to keep the ocean in balance.

Food for thought…

Reptile eggs are sensitive to temperature to determine the sex of the hatchling. Example high then the whole clutch of eggs become male. or if the temperature is low it become all female…

Our turtle conservation farms have been protecting the eggs for umpteen years. BUT all at the same location and conditions.

Turtles lay eggs new the water line or far away or in the shade or not… so don’t know hatchling of the whole clutch will be male or female.

What if our conservation have been producing only females (or males)… how? How are they going to reproduce?

(1) pelf is NOT the turtle expert la =) We’re all learning together, right?

(2) Yes, the plan is crazy and the person who proposed it is crazy.
