Post-holiday blues

Due to the slow internet speed we are experiencing over here in Malaysia, I think I am going to take a break for a few days.

But you never know. I may get creative and go into the kitchen to cook up something different. So, until then, there will be no updates.

BTW, I finally disposed off the turkey carcass. I made the most yummylicious, hearty soup with the carcass of the roasted turkey. I boiled the whole bird bones, lots of carrots, celery and onions in a large stock pot. I sieve the soup to get just clear stock. Then, I painstakingly freeze the soup so that I can skim off the fats at the top. After removing like 2 inches of coagulated fats, I put the soup back for heating. My kids love it with brown rice. My toddler said, ‘bestest soup in the world’. Too bad this is only a once a year affair.

I am not going to wish Happy New Year yet because I am sure I will find something nice to write before that.
