Lion Dance

Lion dance is synonymous with Chinese celebrations. It heralds good luck and one needs to train for a long time to master the moves. During Chinese New Year, lion dances can be found every where. You can invite a troop to your house as well.

However, a big troop with expert skills will cost a lot more than regular ones that make home visit. Here are some photos of the lion dance troop I captured this morning.

As you can see, some kungfu skills are involved here.

The drums and cymbals accompanied the dance troop and the noise is absolutely deafening. If you have not experience a lion dance before, you should. There is nothing quite like it. The sound, colours, moves and the team work of the group is fantastic. Catch one near you this Chinese New Year.
