In much of the Western world we've had a lot of public health issues because of multiple interests lobbying our politicians, as well as people who should be experts believing the hype themselves while misleading the public. Did you know that soybeans are the second largest food crop in the USA after corn? The American diet contains hundreds of altered chemical forms of each of these, from industrially processing their oils, starches, and proteins. And the scam works, because an entire generation here was misled into believing that they'd die of heart disease from eating saturated fats like the oils from coconuts and palm (kernels) -- none of this is even remotely true. The medical studies have shown that smoking is the strongest risk factor for heart disease, while saturated fat isn't a risk by the numbers at all. But it's easier to instill fear in the public than to remove it, and I'm sorry that your economy has been the victim. Some of us still believe in the value of whole foods in their most natural forms, but I'm afraid that we're in a small minority right now, and it may be too late to correct our culture of counterproductive regulations, government subsidies, and fearmongering. They must definitely be aware like in "The Pot Calling the Kettle Black" article on the site that some of the NGOs are just trying to make money from us. We should also boycott all other oils and use what our country produces because it is as good if not better than the rest. All of us should rally around and do our bit to let our friends, family and colleagues know about the Palm Oil Truth Foundation site!
