WTF! Content stealer

Email to Blog.com, the service provider of free blogs.

http://aida1956.blog.com/

The above user is using your blog platform to take blog postings from many people without our permission. This includes our photos as well. Therefore, I hope you will take the necessary action and also inform me immediately. I believe an honorable service provider like Blog.com will not allow your users to tarnish your image by stealing contents.

Attached below the screenshot of my photo and my recipe. I did not grant permission to her to use it and has asked her to take it down. But then, almost all the things in there are taken from other sites and I doubt they explicitly give her the permission.

I am an experienced blogger and owner of several blogs and hence, knows when a blogger has crossed the line and when they are not. This is clearly a splog and I hope Blog.com will not encourage such practice.

Thank you

Food bloggers – Check if the site has stolen your content. Pablo of DeliciousAsianFood has gotten it. And now me. I get very nasty when people does that. 😛 If your post is taken, why not sent a complaint to Blog.com? Loyar Pablo, apa mau bikin?

  1. Actually, hor, I posted a comment in the “blog” and asked her to remove my posts. She apologized unconditionally and removed them altogether.

She said she posted them because she wanted to share the recipes with other Muslim friends (my recipes which are “pork-free”).

Since she removed my posts, I have no more issues with her. Did you try posting? I will email to you her email.

  2. Just copy and paste? That is thief. Although food recipe on net are not mean to be “secret”, but copy the whole content are consider stealing. And copy it without referral are worst than pirates. At least pirates won’t censored the list of worker name.

  3. moo_t – Some people needs to learn what is right and what is wrong, don’t they?

pablo – You are too kind liao. Did you notice that she only quote once or twice and then, she took a whole lot and then, never provide the link and probably, later on, never even quote at all. Want to share? Just provide link lah. How does that benefits us, right?

  4. Heh! heh! I didn’t know I could be classified as being “too kind”. Anyway, I did tell her that if she likes my recipes so much, she can always put a link rather than copying. Has she removed yours?

  5. pablo – Yes, she did. She has to get the message loud and clear that taking everything including the pic is NOT OK, right?

  6. Obviously, she hasn’t got the message because the whole blog is almost a cut and paste blog. I wonder if there are many like this out there…

  7. mak engkau betul ini orang semua! they all takda otak or wat?? really dun understand these ppl.

  8. why this ppl like that keh??? Aiyoh!!! Just take ppl hard work and later she get the name. Lilian, this ppl really need to ‘kau fun’ them hor?
