Review : Hardwicke House Restaurant

Hardwicke House

I went to Hardwicke House a couple of weeks ago to buy an iMac because the Apple reseller is located there. However, the shop wasn’t open so both hubby and I decided to have lunch at Hardwicke instead.

(My steak, forgot the name and price.)

We used to go to Mr. Ho’s Fine Food (which was closed down and Hardwicke took over) a lot because my children love the pastas. Since Mr. Ho closed down, we haven’t stepped foot there because there isn’t much publicity about Hardwicke House Restaurant.

I am glad I went because Hardwicke’s food beat Mizzi and Audees flat. The price is reasonable for the set lunch and the quality of the food is a lot better. Set lunches go for around RM23 to RM30 +. The dinner price is a bit costly but they come with wine. Dinner is RM100 to RM188. I hope to try the dinner one of these days. Wah piang! If four of us (the older children), means pokkai lah!

Nice bread they serve.

I have done a review on my Food Haven’s blog so hop over to get more details from there, will you?

If they take so much trouble to serve a soup, you can be assured it is a nice place to eat, eh?

I think the restaurant is non-halal. Good place to have lunch. You can find cosy corners to have a cigar too.

Try avoid using flash. You bring the state of the art, make me drools 18-200mm VR lens, it is a sin using the flash.

Visited Hardwicke House several times. At first it was marvellous. Last visit bit dissapointing. Dishes leaned towards the salty. Signature dishes were below expectation. Maybe expectation too high or cook was in a bad mood that nite? Saving grace was the dessert. Had the combination plate and couldn’t decide which I liked best - this is a dilemma I WOULD wish on everyone.

oops…the salt might be me…i remembered putting in too much salt in one batch of steaks because of the new mixture for the seasoning changed without anyone notifying me.

[...] Overall, a very satisfied meal. The combination of good food with reasonable prices and cozy ambiance makes this a perfect dining place. After trying out this light meal, I am sure my family and myself will be back soon to pamper ourselves with the steak and seafood.
