Budget 2009 – Encourage home cooking?
I am watching the Finance Minister cum Prime Minister tabling the Budget 2009. Early in his speech, he announced the reduction of taxes on kitchen gadgets like rice cooker and microwave ovens. He also announced the reduction of taxes for basic food items like mee hoon, canned corns and etc.
So, does this means that the Government is encouraging all of us to cook at home and stop complaining about the steep increased in food prices?
Anyway, the Budget 2009 is just so boring.
