Does the above photo resembles a holiday resort with natural brick works, palm trees and all things tropical? What if it has a nice play area, Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins icecreams, koi ponds with blooming water lilies and a few cafes serving different type/price of foods? Great place, right?
Well, that is what the North-South Highway rest stop at Tapah looks like.
My family travels often to Kuala Lumpur previously but had to cut down on these trips as my eldest son is sitting for his PMR exam. Hence, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that the Tapah (on the side of Penang to Kuala Lumpur) rest stop has been upgraded.
The younger kids had a nice time running around and playing on the many swings and slides. A refreshing change after about 2.5 hours of travelling.
I took a lot of photos of the fruit stalls and the foods available. I shall blog about that separately.
Meantime, if you are travelling from Penang to KL, mark it as your rest stop. However, the other side (from KL to Penang) rest stop is not as nice, though.
hahaha u din take the photos inside the toilet?? dang cool man this rest stop
[…] The nearest Dunkin Donuts is about 100 miles away from here. At the Tapah rest area along the North-South Highway. […]
